The Christian

This question may seem odd, but are you a Christian? And if you are, can you tell me how and why? If you can’t tell me how and why, then does it go to a when and where, or are you a Christian by default? The fact is, many “Christians” have no idea what being a Christian is. You may get replies like, I go to church, or I believe in God, or even I prayed “The Prayer”, but if you’re a Christian, by the renewing of your mind you know that these answers just don’t cut it in the end.

Now if I were to rephrase the question, do you believe that God sent his Son to die a death not deserved, to redeem you from your wicked sinful ways? That God wrapped himself in flesh and endured all the wretchedness that people deal with and that he died on a cross, but death could not hold him, and on the third day he arose from the grave thus being the perfect sacrifice and fulfilling prophesy and gave us the free gift of salvation, that whoever believes in HIM will not perish, but have everlasting life and get to be in constant fellowship with him through the Holy Spirit, that he left us as a helper that dwells within to get us through trials and tribulations so that we can be like Christ? Or in layman’s terms, are you a Christian? This is the grounding of what a Christian should believe. We are indeed in need of a savior, and that savior is Jesus Christ.

Salvation is through Christ alone ( Acts 4:12, John 14:6, Matthew 7:21-23, Romans 10:9-13) and is the only way according to the Bible. You can’t just pick and choose what you want to believe in this divine collaboration of documents. It is a whole. It is a reliable historical document written by eye witnesses, in the life time of other eye witnesses, that record supernatural events that were not human in origin (Voddie Baucham http://bit.ly/1uSLcp1). This is God. God does what he pleases. He is sovereign and righteously perfect. WE as people are the exact opposite. So what makes us think we can question God in anything? We do because we are an imperfect people, influenced by a sinful world, that tries to make an exception for evil.

Pick up your crosses daily and follow me (Colossians 1:10, Ephesians 5:15, Luke 9:23, 14:27). Love one another as yourself (John 13:34, Luke 6:31, Leviticus 19:18) Love the lord God with ALL your heart, soul and mind (Deuteronomy 6:5, Matthew 22:38). Go and proclaim that I am the way (Mark 16:15). Guys this is real. This life has nothing for you; you’re running after nothing (1 John 5:19). Riches, fame, whatever; it’s all vanity and like chasing after the wind (Ecclesiastes 6:1-12). We are made to glorify God in whatever we do (1Corinthinans 10:31). Whether it’s through music, art, health, teaching, we should do it as imitators of Christ (2 Timothy 2 15). Because we are Christians. If that is what you think you are. We can’t be hypocrites. We can’t indulge in wickedness and not face the judge (2 Corinthians 5:10, 1 Corinthians 4:5). I’m talking to myself here. But we as Christians have to be a light on a lamp stand for all to see (Matthew 5:16), radiating Gods glory in whatever we do, not being boastful, and not supporting things that are worldly, but things that are eternal. We say we reppin Christ, but we represent the devil, through our evil deeds, it’s nothing man can handle. Through scripture and conviction we know where we fall short, for the spirit within us gives conviction and lets us know of our wickedness (1 John 5:20, Romans 14:21-23).

Christian shouldn’t just be a title or one’s reply when asked their religion. It should be a life style that is evident through our works. Faith without works is dead (James 2:14-20). You are known by your fruits (John 15:1-27). We need to be what we say we are or we are just leading people astray and away from God.

Saved

I’m weak, wobblin at the knees, falling down before my God giving him my plea,
I’m sinful, full of distress, looking forward to the one who doesn’t rest,
I’m wretched, blinded by desire, pressing on through the fire, cant seem to get no higher,
He’s perfect, made from up above, all he wants to do is show his blinding love,

Jesus, the name above all names, thank you for saving me from my sin I proclaim.

Use Me

Take me, use me, for the glory of the Kingdom,
I want to be used to bring utter wisdom.
I fail daily, but let me display,
my God, my Father to my dismay.
Imá wicked, selfish, necked man,
but you build me up, to be a lamp stand.
Your glory echos through the universe,
who can know your mystery,
all but a verse, in all of history.
You said don’t write, what your about to hear,
but this just compels me, to listen up and fear.
I will proclaim your name forever, though the good and the bad,
cause you made one and the other, and this makes me glad.
So my father up in heaven, just wants us to listen,
through the word, in meditation, not through the media and the people of the nation,
just tryin to get recognition, look how far its taken.
How can they know the secrets of the Father,
when they don’t even botha, to read the scrips,
take his tips, and realize that this is it.

Dear Flesh

Dear Flesh,
You full of sin, that displeases him,
can’t give you momentum, you’ll always win.
I fight with you daily, trying not to comply,
but what can I do, but pluck out my eye.
You desire sinful pleasure, all for selfish gain,
leave me now so I can remain, in him, I proclaim.
I wanna do right, but I do what is wrong,
how can I win this battle, my flesh is so strong.
This battle seems so pointless, but is this final step,
so you can overcome weakness, it takes all the prep.
Put something in, when you take something out,
cause this void may consume you, if you do You, without a doubt.
You are wicked, and sinful at heart,
gotta taste that Living Water, it ain’t tart.
Live for the King, put the self man to shame,
deny the flesh, and cry out Jesus name.

Heavenly Boss

Humble me down, to the foot of the cross,
where you picked up your crown, like a heavenly boss.
You died for my transgressions, and bore a new direction,
so we can have real relation, so we can see the destination.
To you- I pray, the Alpha and Omega,
your name- I say, echos forever-eva,
you are- the way, the truth and the life,
there ain’t no other way to get to paradise.
Gotta give it all to the King, he is sovereign let us sing,
blessed be your name, Christ Jesus you’re everything.

Worry Free

People still livin in the past, I’m looking to the future,
Jesus is a blast, there ain’t nothing true-err.
Come and see, what you can be, through JC, you gon be worry freee.
Let me tell ya,
causse you will have times of trouble, but you wont stay in da rubble,
causse with these trials you will see, to live in Christ is to be worry free.
Got the ticket?
Cause you will eventually see, to be persecuted in Christ, is to be truly free.
I got the ticket,
wont you take a ride with me, on this life roller coaster, you don’t have to wait and seee,
causse salvation aint earned it’s a gift, to set you free,
if you don’t have transformation, and a shift, pause to seee,
The Whole Picture,
and if that’s the case, you ain’t bearin fruit,
dont be the branch that gets cut by the root,
and gets tossed in the fire and given the boot.

Overcome

In the darkness I can’t see, whom God wants me to be,
trapped by this lust so tight, but I gotta trust his insight,
the God who wrapped himself in flesh, and was tempted like the rest,
died a death not deserved, but through his grace was served.
Into the light I must go, so I can feel his Spirit flow,
through my veins, from head to toe, this Spirit within, over flow,
because unfading love, I am changed, beloved,
my God, you’re all I need, with you I am free indeed.
Sin can’t hold me down, I will overcome,
this life may make me frown, it’s just burdensome,
set your eyes upon the prize, kick the devil between his eyes,
yell from a mountain on high, Jesus paid my price.

Fight

I fight to win, and I ain’t cavin in,
my flesh gonna fail, ain’t no tellen when,
cause the devil skilled with his craft,
to steal, kill, destroy, and relapse,
but when I am filled with The Spirit,
I dominate sin, and I kill it.
There is only one thing to do,
put my faith in Christ, he do what he do,
giving me the strength for this fight through,
I know his ways, will always shine through,
gotta have the patience and endurance, stride through,
his will is mine that’s why I live for You.

His

Running for the light, stumbling through the darkness,
Jesus give me confidence, whom shall I fear?
His will is oh so sovereign, my life’s not mine it’s his,
he rescued me from life’s desires for his kingdom, I am his.
Whom shall I fear? Not a shadow in a doubt,
I fear the one who made me, cause he made me, without a doubt.

Anew

Why you living life so complacent, Jesus died for you, and resurrected.
You wonderen why your spirit man is weak, it’s because you don’t hardly let it eat,
gotta feed it life through the word, let it speak, stop being so selfish and grow, hit this beat.
It ain’t about the talk, but the walk, gotta pick up our crosses, shall we rock,
cause we your flock and we lift up our praises.
Have us put the self man to shame, and cry out Jesus name,
change in me and make in me anew, that is all, you know how to do,
give me that new mind, a heart of flesh too, cause I know you are Lord, and your sovereign,
